Cue the lights.

Scales.

Of sticks and balls.

Of smiles and laughter.

i've participated in a photography competition recently.

and the theme was "moments of joy and happiness".

and the rules were, we're not suppose to edit nor crop the pictures. well, unlike others, i actually followed this rule.

every person is to only submit 3 pictures.

we had to print them out and submit to them at the booth.

and it's sorta like an on location shooting scene so all we had were the people around us.

and what i wanted to do was to capture people's emotion (candid).

and guess what.

i saw the finalist photos, they were all posey photos.

anyway, this was my first go at a photo comp and i got into finals and i won myself a return flight ticket to Medan(4th prize). pretty lucky i should say!

1st prize - JVC video camera

2nd prize - Canon A470 digital camera

3rd prize - Vivita camera (god knows what that is.)

so here are the 3 photos i submitted.

this kid being so amazed by the bull.

lastly, this girl riding the bull.

and guess which won me 4th place?

i mean for all pictures they chose the first picture.

and i thought the strongest of the bunch was the girl and the bull!

i mean look! the mentos is practically jumping out from her mouth.

but who can i blame anyway.

i think one of the judges is a head photographer for "The Star".

pretty happy i guess.
